Have you decided yet what you’re going to do when you take your Zambia vacation? With so many options, it’s a really tough call to make.
No Zambia vacation would be complete without a safari and a trip to Victoria Falls. Safaris can be found throughout the country, catering to many needs and preferences. Breathtaking Victoria Falls, located on the southern border of Zambia with Zimbabwe is a sight second to none.
The town of Livingstone is a delightful tourist destination offering all kinds of fun while on Zambia vacation. Tour the city with its shopping markets and wonderful zoo or take to the air for a helicopter view of the majestic falls. Stay in world-class Royal Livingstone Hotel, perhaps the most elegant hotel in Zambia or enjoy the more rustic accommodations at the many safari lodges found throughout the area.
The capital city of Lusaka offers a more international, cosmopolitan spin to the Zambia vacation. Lusaka has a population of more than 2 million people and is known as the crossroads of the country. It is the seat of government for the country as well as a major commercial zone.
Some of the world’s most spectacular game reserves are located in the many national parks that dot the Zambian countryside. The Blue Lagoon, Kafue, Lochinvar, and Mosi-o-Tunya National Parks each offers its own unique glimpse of life in heart of Africa but there are many others from which to choose, too.
A trip to Lake Tanganyika on the northern Zambian border might seem like a trip back through time. This immense lake, the world’s second deepest freshwater lake, reaches depths of 4,700 feet. The extreme depth of the lake comes from its location in the Great Rift Valley, thought by many to be the birthplace of humankind.
When enjoying your Zambia vacation, remember to leave time for a little “monkeying” around. The Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage in central Zambia was founded in 1983 and has became home to many animals from all around the world who were found sick, wounded, or abandoned for whatever reason – including more than 100 orphaned chimpanzees. A chimp named “Pal” was the “founding father” for this sanctuary that offers overnight accommodations in a tent or chalet for primate-friendly human “pals.”
OK! So, . . . what are you going to do on your NEXT Zambia vacation?
