The Mall of America is a popular shopping mall located in the Twin Cities suburb of Bloomington, Minnesota, just southeast of the junction of Interstate 494 and Minnesota State Highway 77. The Mall of America, a.k.a MOA, or MoA, or the Megamall, is across the interstate from the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.

The Mall of America was opened in 1992. Built on 4.2 million square feet (390,000 m²) of ground that was a football stadium once, the Mall of America is one of the biggest in the United States. The mall has a 2.5 million sq ft. (230,000 m²) available as retail space.

The Mall of America has a nearly symmetrical building, with a roughly rectangular floor plan. Beautifully divided in the four zones, the Mall of America is comprised of over 520 stores, 14 movie theaters, LEGO Imagination Center, nearly 30 fast food and 20 sitting restaurants, under water adventure aquarium with 4500 sea creatures, a dinosaur walk museum, and seven nightclubs. Additionally the mall also has a place with 18-hole golf course. There are over 12,000 workers (the number surges to 13, 000 in summer vacation) working in the mall.

The Mall of America has two nearly identical seven story parking ramps on east and west sides provide approximately 13,000 parking spaces. The parking lots on the north and south of the building approximately provide 20,000 parking spaces. The Parking facility is totally free of coast at the mall.

There are 35 famous hotels near the mall of America. The Mall of America is one of the most visited shopping Malls in the world. The Mall of America approximately attracts over 40 million visitors every year; the number roughly stands equal to eight times the population of the state of Minnesota. The number of visitors in the mall of America is approximately more than the visitors visiting the Disney land, the grand canyon and Graceland combined.

The Mall Of America is one of the major tourist attractions of the United States. The Mall has made Minnesota, a highly frequented place. Minnesota gets extremely cold in winters, but visitors still come to watch the mall.

The Mall Of America is a mini city in itself. It’s one of the popular shopping destinations of America. The mall gets extremely crowded on the weekends; it gets so crowded that it becomes difficult to walk.
